The Heart and the Intellect

"Most people do not even notice that there exists within them only contradictions, war and anguish ; or, if it happens that they did notice, they accept this as being normal and do not even know why it is like that within them. Yet, it is very simple : in them the three powers that are the intellect, the heart and the will are not united and working in the same direction. The intellect might be interested in the ideas presented to it, but the heart, who also wants to satisfy its desires, chooses pleasures while forgetting all the while the decisions of the intellect. As to the will, it sometimes obeys to one, sometimes to the other, or, if left by itself, does pretty much anything ...
In order to put an end to all this disorder, men must create within himself a divine ideal and cherish it, nourrish it until it takes full possession of him, incarnates within him and is at one with him."
