"One day, Fatme, the wife of Nastradine Hodja, was washing the dishes ; when a crow, who was flying nearby, came along and flew away with the soap. Fatme was running in pursuit and yelling after the bird when Nastradine Hodja, who was occupied eating loukoums at the time, simply told her: « Stay calm, Fatme, the crow is darker then us ( which makes him dirtier of course ! :) ), and thus, he needs the soap more then us.» You laugh? But this reasoning is that of many people who, in comparing themselves with beings less evolved than them, of course find themselves to be clean, white and spotless. It is not forbidden to make comparisons, but at the condition that we compare ourselves with those who are more honest, more generous, more luminous then we are and that we say to ourselves: what a road I still have to walk! And never look behind. Because when someone is always looking behind to see the road traveled, that person stops from advancing further and will never be able to reach the summit in that way. While the another person, someone who never stops and walks forward, always keeping his gaze on the summit, will someday reach the goal and will then finally be able to take a well deserved and true rest.
