Our intelligence does not come from us. It is the fruit of cosmic Intelligence. We cannot give or create for ourselves more intelligence. The simple fact that we wonder if there is truly an intelligence in nature, proves that this intelligence exists. Man's intelligence is the consequence of nature's cosmic intelligence. We are not isolated from nature, we are not distinct from it, and if intelligence is present within us, it is proof, it is the authentic reflection that intelligence also exists as an entity in nature. It is not simply a fictive construction of our ..... Intelligence !

Some philosophers have declared that nature was dead, that only little humans somewhere in this immense cosmos possessed intelligence ..... well, it is possible that they never tought about the fact that they were thinking. What is so close, is often the hardest thing to see. It is with their own intelligence that they have established theories which state that intelligence does not exist in nature ..... but where do they come from if not nature ? That is a very curious theory indeed !

Now, what is the result of this theory: this position towards the natural world creates in man the feeling of pride, of a false sense of superiority. Of course, if he is the only one to possess intelligence, why would he respect anything else ... ! We only have to watch what we do on a daily basis to animals and nature, to understand the unfortunatly all too real results of this attitude. Without being fully conscious of it, without using their full faculty of Intelligence, these philosophers have contributed to alot of the problems with which we are presently stuck with. If they had been right, what would be the reason why our world is in such a state ? Everyday exemples teach us that, when we have found the answer, when we are right, well ..... all is settled, we have solved the problem, all is well and we can move on to something else.

If we are met with so many disapointments as a humanity, it is perhaps that our starting premisce, our very conception of what is life, our present ideal to aspire to as human beings ..... needs to be reconsidered.

The Ideal that we give ourselves to attain is of such great importance ! It precisly, mathematicly, determines the elements that we will attract in our daily lives. It draws the great lines of our destiny, and this destiny can be a marvelous one ! It is possible to create a wonderful future for ourselves, a beautiful and luminous one, and it is even more normal then to endlessy align ourselves towards problems simply because of our ignorance of the laws of the universe and the intelligence that preceeds them.

Where our heart is, is where we will someday be.

When people say : "Bah ! There is only one life to live, lets profit from it as much as possible !", they do not realise that they are signing their spiritual death. Since with such a philosophy, they will never be able to lift their conscience from matter, let it be even for a few minutes, they will never know the joys of the soul. They will search for pleasure in matter ..... even though it will never be able to fullfill them completely. Matter, the perishable, will never have the capacity to fullfill the unperishable, the Spirit.

The philosophy that we place in our heads, whichever it is, influences our existence right now. Here is a very down to earth notion that is impossible to deny.

We can doubt about everything in existence if we like, but there is one thing which we will never be able to deny, it is the fact that we are alive. Here and now. And we are alive as much physicly, as we are in the inner place in which we are constantly living, our inner kingdom with the thoughts and feelings that inhabit it.

That we must always be able to choose the best thoughts and feelings, the best philosophy there is, as it is with these that we will live our daily life. We might as well use our capacities to make ourselves useful and thus, happy. To better ourselves and lift up the soul of those who surround us. We cannot escape the fact that we all have a philosphy which we follow, more or less consciously. Even the simple fact of saying: "I really don't care about any of this ! I have no philosophy whatsoever !" is also a philosophy ..... but surely not the best there is however.

There exist a philosophy that can truly makes us whole. That is truly in correspondance with that of cosmic intelligence, and that is the philosophy of evolution. It is the philosophy of all strong and advanced souls who see this earth as a great school of learning. It is the philosophy of love, love towards what is greater then us, and service to the greatness of the universe and its head, it's center, the most sublime of all beings and the infinite ocean of light in which it bathes, and in which we also all live. This ocean, the hindus call ; Sat-Chit-Ananda, or infinite-bliss-counsciousness. Because humans are not lost, we are not left to ourselves. We are young, and nature is always watching over us, very patiently. Waiting for the time where we will re-enter her cosmic rythm.

But for that, we must be scientific, we must have the audacity to verify what is spiritual life, and not simply accept the preconceived opinions of the masses on what is life ! We must have the courage to invest ourselves in spiritual life, especially if it had always interested us in the first place. If our society had truly found the keys of right living, it would never be in such a state ! When you feel good, you are in joy ! You are in right action ! And such is the state in which the universe is living ! But we are still young.

Many thinkers have also declared that men has invented to notion of cosmic intelligence in his fear of death. Many however, have the impression that men created these theories ..... from fear of Life ! Yes, from fear of life, and the Laws which gouvern it. By fear of recognizing that there are no chance happenings, but that we are truly the creators of our future. That what we do unto others, necessarily comes back at us someday or the other. Perhaps even by laziness, laziness towards the immense work of self-transformation which awaits us. Perhaps also because of pride, the pride which does not confront us with the fact that what surrounds us is so much greater than us ! That perhaps, we are not that intelligent yet ... ! Very often, it is not obscurity that scares us, but rather the light of truly seeing all the wonderful things which we could be, but do not have the guts to become !

The undeniable truth for humans, is that we will all die physicly someday. Like everyone else, I know that. But do you know what I have also found ?

That even if all the nihilistic philosophers were right, that men is only ashes and goes back to ashes, ( which becomes impossible to even think at a certain level of spiritual work and purity of the subtle bodies, we start to litteraly feel that the world is the immense cosmic body of God ( and we are of course not speaking about an old man with a beard here ! ), that we are and have always been with and within Him, and that we must work to become just like Him. This is not the result of an intellectual attitude, but rather, can be experienced by whomever has worked to link himself with his superior Divine nature.) well, I would continue to live according to my spiritual teaching. I would continue to work for my spiritual Ideal. Why ?

Because it is what truly makes me live. It is what i have found that is best. It is this philosophy of Spirit that fullfills me, that gives me wings and pushes me to always better myself, to never stagnate. Since the law of life is evolution, well I feel aligned on it's path.

Tell me then, what matters the materialistic philosohy, when, in what we are living, we feel plenitude ? What matters in public opinion, if it does not shake us anymore in our convictions ?

The world is built with great Intelligence, according to Laws which we also find engraved within our very being. When we truly observe ourselves, it is inevitable to find that what can truly give great meaning to our lives, is to try our best in every circumstance which we are presented with. It is to aspire with all our strength to enter in harmony with the intelligent forces of nature, it is to evolve !

I beleive that certain philosophs, certain intellectuals, do not like answers. They do not like to see what is right before their eyes, what is simple, they like intellect. They like to think, which is very good, but in doing so, in their case, they push aside everything that comes from the hearth, from our intuitive nature, even tough it may be far superior and should be functionning in union with the intellect, not against it.

These thinkers might not have noticed that these philosophies of matter as the only truth, are cutting the wings of people. They are forgetting a fundemental part of all beings, their religious and spiritual feeling. They put the hearth aside and focus exclusively on the intellect, when these two faculties of intuition and rationalisation should work together. Who has never felt something break in him when he is told that he is only dust ? There is a reason for that ! There is a reason why not a single person on earth as ever suceeded fully in being a nihilist ! It is simply against nature.

Just as we will never be able to eliminate science and the desire to understand within people (the intellect), just as we will never be able to discard spirituality and the desire present in human beings, to love something which is superior to them ( the hearth). However, esoteric science knows how to unite the inspirations of the hearth and the wisdom of the head, without removing any of the two, and even permits them to exalt one another to create truth, and by that I mean, a philisophical system that works, that is link and harmony with the rythms of nature. Watch and observe, everywhere in nature exists the feminie principle and the masculine principle that together, create a "child". Wether it be in an electric plug and its two poles, a battery with its positive and negative sides, women and men, up and down, work and rest, the heart and the intellect, the exemple are simply infinite ! Why not then, combine these two principles in philosophy also ?

There comes a time where science and religion will not oppose one another eternally anymore. A time where science will confirm that what the hearth had felt for innumerous times as the truth, that men is not simply an assembly of skin and bones, but rather a living soul, and immortal Spirit, will be recognised as being common knowledge. As being, the truth.

It is said that in the past century, in India, a great scientist came to see Paramhansa Yogananda's spiritual guide, the great saint Sri Yukteswar (see Autobiography of a Yogi), to describe him how, according to him, God did not exist. Since it was impossible for him to prouve it's existence by experiments or to place its essence in a flask, it was impossible, according to him, that such a divinity were to exist. To this, the Master Yukteswar answered two things : Firstly, he told him that it was a very good that he could not capture it's essence in a laboratory, because if such a thing was possible, it would necessarily mean that God was a limited being. Secondly, he told him, with a severe tone of voice, this:

" Observe your toughts and feelings, let that be even for only 24 hours, and you will understand immediatly why you feel that God is so far from you. "

In this story, the man himself was the cause of his feeling of distance between his being, and the Supreme Being. While he was not feeling nor seeing anything since he was too occupied somewhere else (his inferior nature and all its desires), it is said that Sri Yukteswar, was himself living right then and there, in complete felicity. He was plunged in the sublime nectar of cosmic counsciousness. He was in fusion with God, simply because he had spent so much time and efforts washing, preparing and purifying his inner temple, that it became the dwelling place of his beloved. There were no more screens between his human and superior divine nature. According to his visions, nothing in the world was closer then God, he felt that he was living within Him, bathing in the unique Existence. Sat-Chit-Ananda ! And all that ..... while the scientist of the story was questionning himself on the very existence of something greater then his little sense of ego. What an immense difference in their conscience ! What an incredible difference in the degree of intensity and quality of Life each of these souls were living !

Isin't it worth it then, to work spirituality ? It is when we engage in such a work that our questions disappear, because these question themselves can only be born in an inner environment which gives them that chance. Within the Saint, no doubt can ever arise as to the existence of cosmic intelligence, he is plunged in it every second of his existence.

It is not then a question of intellectual position, but of quality of life. Yes, of a superior degree of life, of a more elevated point of view from which things are seen differently. To be able to raise your consciousness above all doubts, we must be ready to verify what the sages of all eras have declared as being the truthful truth. Even if that may take some time, the worth of such a work is infinitly great. What can ever be worth then truth finally discovered ?

Whomever works spiritually, with depth and stability, will one day or the other understand this with every fiber of his being :

We are all divinities in potential, and we must work to make this divinity live and flow trough us.

Even if that takes us a billion lives, we will eventually come back to our state of original beatitude, as such is our soul's true home, our celestine heritage. Let us not spit on what we have that is the most precious ! We are too beautiful, we have too much potential for that. Lets us make of our Intelligence, of this inestimable gift which was given to us as Sons and Daughters of Life, the best use possible. Let us be worthy and thankful for having so much, and mostly, so much still to learn ! Because such is the real benediction, it is to feel that we are so vast, so immense, so rich in our inner space, that it is fully worth it to put ourselves at work. It is difficult as we have so many things within us, we are machines of such perfection, the universe itself is contained, symbolicly, within the microcosm of men. And this universe, it loves to learn, it loves to live, it loves before all things, to be and becomes always more beautiful, always closer to the perfection of it's Essence. And that is what it wants to do trough us; be fully conscious of its own magnificience, of the very sublime of it's existence.
